US 41 and M-28 share the metropolitan corridor through the Marquette area. The highway does not need to follow every downtown or waterfront destination for those places to be worthwhile parts of a Marquette stop.

The shared US 41/M-28 metropolitan corridor is the through-route layer. Downtown, the Lake Superior waterfront, beaches, marinas, Presque Isle Park, and local neighborhoods are separate destination layers, each with its own access, timing, and conditions. Do not treat the corridor and the whole shoreline city as one roadside stop.
